Welcome to my site, my name is Emily Klein and I am currently working as a birth doula while being mentored by a woman highly regarded in her field as a labor support person and childbirth educator. Currently I am taking clients only while partnered with my mentor, Bonnie Miller, please follow this link for more information about Bonnie's journey and experience. In addition to this hands on education and involvement, I am pursuing my birth doula certification through DONA International. DONA offers an enjoyable and thorough program which promotes sharing among doulas, lactation specialization, and holds it's members to high ethical standards of practice.
Doula is a term derived from the Greek language to represent a woman servant. In recent years we have come to use this term specifically for a woman, often a mother herself, who assists prenatally, continually in labor and birth and for postpartum needs.
Perhaps you are at the beginning of your consideration and research of a doula, or you have always known that you would like a professional birthworker to attend your labor.
